Works great!
Everything works fine. I use it for cammera and plug for my 3D printer. The quality is good and I can tell if the print is failed or not. When printing is done, I use the plug to turn the printer off. All works perfectly and saves me ton of time checking on the printer in person.
Crappy application
On my iPhone 11 Pro I cannot replay video from previous day. When I pick previous day it still replays today’s video. Navigating between days doesn’t work. It plays today’s video from some random time. It is showing it plays video from 6:40, in video is time 6:14 but current time is 6:22. When I try to replay something from yesterday it says there is no record even if I see orange bar on time line and there definitely was some video. If I’m lucky it starts to play something from today. But not from beginning. Only way how to get to the video is to remove card a play it on computer. Or to play on Synology surveillance station. In application I even cannot disable time in the video. I thing that programmer of the application doesn’t use it. Maybe he is very junior developer.
Buggy app with poor support
The bad:
You can only have one user in the family that is administrator for the camera. Other family members can only get a very limited "guest invite".
The "guest" family member doesn't get access to recordings, even though there is a tab for recordings. The admin account has this access. At the same time, the guest account gets notifications when the camera detects motion, but once you open the app, you see nothing since the recording isn't available. Completely useless and just annoying.
The app is slow when opening video feed, sometimes taking 10 sec to show the feed.
The clips that do get recorded (possible to see on my wife's phone since she did the setup and has the admin account) are sometimes to sort, showing a person walking into view, but then stops recording before the person has moved out from the camera field of vision.
Searching for support on TP-Link website, there is only a list of help articles. No phone, email or other way to get bugs resolved 🤦♂️
The good:
Picture is clear and night vision very good.
In summary: stay away from TP-Link unless you're seeing frustration and poor support.
