App nicht brauchbar, delay von einigen Sekunden zwischen Bild und Ton

Sobald vom Mac der interne Ton auf eine Sonos Box umgeschaltet wird, entsteht eine Verzögerung zwischen Bild und Ton. Dies ist zwar bei reiner Musikwiedergabe (Audiofiles) nicht störend, aber gerade dann wenn man vorhat einen Film oder YouTube Beiträge vom Ton zu streamen, ist diese App nicht zu gebrauchen.

The sound delay problem happens because Sonos speakers have to maintain a big buffer to make the audio playback smooth. Plus exchanging and processing data also take time. It’s a hardware and streaming protocol limitation that we can do nothing about.

How to Fix It:
However, there’s a workaround for this problem that we found pretty effective. You can use a free desktop media player called VLC Player to play all your videos, and use the audio offset functionality ("F" and "G" hotkeys) to manually synchronize the video and audio.

For Local Video Files:
When playing a local video file in VLC player, you can delay the video quite easily with the “F” and “G” keys on your keyboard to keep it fully synchronized with the audio coming out of your Sonos speaker.

For Online Videos:
VLC player also supports streaming videos from online sources such as YouTube or Vimeo, so that you can use it to watch your web videos, and sync the video and audio using the “F” and “G” hotkeys.

Hallo,

hab mir die App gekauft. Leider muss ich sagen das sie bei mir nicht funktioniert. Die Geräte werden zwar erkannt aber wenn ich die wiedergabe starten will schließt sich die App.

Terribly complicated

During installation, Audio Cast detected that my port 1900 was used by another application. I used their recommended command line and found that "perl5.18", a programming tool, was blocking the port. I have no clue what it does. All the rest of audio cast looks like geek material to me. Better to stay away unless you are willing to spend your days indoors.
