Beschreibung

Calibre Companion (CC), recommended by calibre developers, is three applications in one:
- a superb device-based calibre library organiser
- a high-performance WiFi-based calibre device emulator
- a calibre content server and cloud provider client (Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive)

1) CC is a device-based calibre library organiser. Once you put books on your device using one of the connection methods described below you can:
- view a book's metadata (author, tags, series, rating, dates, etc.).
- sort and group books by their metadata.
- see book lists by cover or by list.
- mark books read and sync this information with calibre.
- launch your book reader application to read a book

2) CC can connect to calibre over WiFi and be detected by calibre as a device. Once connected, you use calibre to move books to and from your device. Calibre automatically updates all the book metadata stored by CC to match the latest in your library.

3) CC can connect to calibre’s content server or to your cloud provider to browse your library and download books to your device. Supports Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive.

Keine NAS Unterstützung

Ich benutze Calibre auf dem Mac und dache mir ich könnte die Datenbank auf mein NAS legen und einfach von unterwegs über VPN drauf zugreifen. Mit Dropbox oder oneDrive soll es ja auch gehen.... aber warum nicht mit dem Eigenem NAS. Ich möchte auch nicht Calibre ständig als Server auf dem Mac laufen lassen, weil dann brauche ich solche App auch nicht, weil dann kann ich auch über den Browser drauf zugreifen. Also ist das Programm für meine Zecke Unbrauchbar.... ich werde wohl meinte Bücher aus der Datenbank lösen und diese denn in Ordnern auf mein NAS sortieren und mich von Calibre verabschieden. So kann ich dann von allen Geräten und von überall drauf zugreifen. Schade

Sehr gute Ergänzung zum Calibre auf dem Mac

Eine sehr gute Möglichkeit seine Calibre Bibliothek von überall zu nutzen.
Ich halte meine Library in OneDrive und habe mit diesem Programm so den vollen Zugriff. Auch Funktionen wie Suche Funktionen erstaunlich flott.
Kritikpunkt ist das keine benutzerdefinierten Felder angezeigt werden. Daher ist auch die Funktion das man den Lesestatus setzen kann nur via direktem Sync und nicht via Cloud verfügbar.
Eine Lokalisierung des Programms wäre schön aber so komplexe Funktionen sind ja auch nicht drin dass das zwingend wäre.
