Wage war by sea, land, air…and a card table? You may think you’ve played solitaire before, but this fresh take on the venerable classic was invented by none other than Sir Winston Churchill, and the game’s lush presentation is imbued with historical flavor. Using two decks of cards and some challenging rule tweaks, it’s a wonderfully strategic reimagining of a familiar standard. And if Churchill’s design weren't enough to give the game a military pedigree, the app is the brainchild of former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.
Gutes Spiel, App mit Potenzial
Das Spielprinzip ist eigentlich wie Solitär, allerdings mit den Anpassungen von Churchill. Wer mal ein gewöhnliches Solitär gespielt hat, wird sich schnell zurechtfinden. Trotzdem fordert Churchills Variante mehr. Als jemand, der sonst mal nebenbei Solitär spielt, fand ich persönlich ein Spiel, wo man mehr nachdenken muss. Für schnelle Spielen ist es daher weniger geeignet, aber für eine Runde trotzdem immer mal gut.
Auch die App wurde gut gemacht. Schön ist, dass es ein Bezahlmodell gibt und nicht Werbung. So kann man sich auf das Spiel orientieren. Auch die Menüführung und die Einbindung von Churchill-Zitaten bringt eine gute Stimmung voran. Trotzdem gibt es einen Punkt, der beim Spiel sehr stört und behoben werden muss: Wenn man große Kartenstapel bildet, sind diese im Quermodus nicht sichtbar (und vor allem, nicht nutzbar), sodass man es hauptsächlich im Porträt-Modus nutzen muss. Hier muss noch eine Verbesserung her.
Trotz diesem Fehlers gebe ich eine Empfehlung für dieses Spiel ab. Wer Solitär mag und eine Herausforderung sucht, der ist hier richtig!
Schönes Spiel
Das Spiel ist eine sehr interessante Variation des bekannten Solitaire. Es ist erfreulicherweise kostenlos - die In App Angebote braucht man nicht. Das Drumherum mit Churchill-Videos usw. finde ich überflüssig, ebenso die Möglichkeit, im Rang aufzusteigen. Es stört aber auch nicht. Die hints könnten etwas schneller verschwinden. Es soll ja ein hint sein, kein Feuerwerk. Auch wäre neben den drei Schwierigkeitsstufen ein random-mode schön, der einfach die Karten nach dem Zufallsprinzip austeilt.
