Description

The circle of fifths (Sometimes called circle of fourths) is a great tool for understanding the music theory behind the 12 keys of the chromatic scale. It is useful for visualizing the music notation of the different scales, composing chord progressions/modulations and mixing in key.

Features:
- Color-coded relationship between the major, minor and diminished keys
- Key signature and triad for each key
- A sounded chord/arpeggio for each key (With mute/unmute toggle)
- Ability to lock the circle to currently selected key
- A tappable legend indicating the degree of each key in the currently selected group
- Several color schemes
- Modern UI following material design guidelines

I hope you enjoy using this circle of 5ths app as much I as I enjoyed making it! Have fun! - Josh

„Liebe“ is German for „Love“…

… which is actually true!

Dear Josh, I am here by sending you my heartfelt (thus capital):

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

It may sound a bit weird, but when out and playing, I actually used to carry a little note in my pocket, on which was printed… the circle of fifths!🙈

In Western music, this concept is the fundament on which all we call “music” is based: Cadence, melody, perceiving what is plate as being “in tune” and even weather, we find a set of tones played “ pleasing to the ear” (or not😉).
When playing with my band, the circle provides me with the necessary information to identify the key we are playing in, and even which notes I can use to improvise my guitar solos…
When DJing electronic music, the circle enables “harmonic mixing”, allowing me to create “inaudible” transitions between traxx (as they are either both in the same key), or even create ‘new’ music (when traxx are e.g. a perfect fourth or fifth apart from each other - think mashup).

This app is a little gem for every practicing musician! A big shout out goes to Josh for making it a free app:

Grand cheers, mate!🤩🤞🏽
