CITY CYCLING App: Smart on the move. Track your routes easily via GPS and the kilometres are credited to your team and your municipality.
Features and functions at a glance:
TRACKING
The routes you cycle will be tracked via GPS and the kilometres credited to your team and municipality. Furthermore your Tracks help to improve the local cycling infrastructure. All routes will be provided to the local traffic planers anonymised and in different visualisations. The more kilometres tracked, the more useful the results will be!

TEAM OVERVIEW
You are able to quickly check who in your team is cycling how much and how you compare to other teams in the results overview.

Communicate with your team and motivate others to cycle even more in the intuitive team chat.
NEW: GAMIFICATION THROUGH ACHIEVEMENTS
Have more fun while cycling by earning small achievements. If you cycle diligently using the tracking function, your performance will be rewarded in form of awards in three categories.
RADar! REPORTING PLATFORM
Using this feature, you can draw municipal authorities’ attention to problematic and/or dangerous places along cycle routes. Simply position a pin on the street map and provide a brief explanation of the reason for your report. The information is automatically forwarded to the responsible municipality which can then take the appropriate action.

GENERAL
This app needs to know your current position during tracking. Your phone’s GPS is used to determine this, which may cause your phone battery to discharge faster than usual.
Please contact us directly via email should you experience any issues with the app (app@stadtradeln.de). Ideally, please also include a screenshot and details of your operating system and device model in your message. This will allow our developers to make targeted improvements.

Ich wünsche mir eine Applikation für die Apple-Watch
Eine tolle Idee und bis jetzt funktioniert alles. Ich fände eine Applikation für die Apple-Watch toll, damit man die Fahrten mit der Uhr starten und beenden bzw. pausieren kann. Dann bräuchte ich nicht immer das Handy aus der Tasche rausholen.
Wenn man die Aufzeichnung stoppt, werden die Kilometer automatisch gutgeschrieben. Nun ist es mir aber schon mehrmals passiert, dass ich das Stoppen vergessen habe, später mit dem Auto weitergefahren bin und plötzlich 100 km hatte. Ich habe keine Möglichkeit gefunden, dass automatische Gutschreiben zu verhindern und bekam gleich mehrere Auszeichnungen auf einmal. Ich konnte die Strecke zwar nachträglich wieder löschen und die gefahrene per Hand eingeben, die Auszeichnungen blieben aber.
Sinnvoll, aber verbesserungsbedürftig
Die App ist ja von der Zielsetzung her sehr sinnvoll. Bislang scheint das Tracking bei mir (iOS 14.7) zu funktionieren, allerdings werden die meisten Strecken nicht auf der Karte dargestellt. Beim Anklicken der Strecke öffnet sich zwar der schwarze Kartenhintergrund und kurz sind irgendwelche Kartenelemente zu sehen, aber dann ist alles schwarz. Erst die allerneueste Strecke funktioniert-merkwürdig. Manchmal auch Abstürze dabei...
Am ärgerlichsten finde allerdings, dass die Entwickler es sich mal wieder erspart haben, eine Dokumentation der Funktionen und Bedienelemente, also Gebrauchsanweisung bereitzustellen. Vielleicht haben nicht alle Nutzer Zeit und Lust, via Trial&Error die Funktionsweise zu ergründen? Vor allem, wenn die Kampagne sowieso nur 3 Wochen läuft.
Z.B. Wann ist wiederholtes Login erforderlich? Was ist nach Beendigung der Fahrt zu tun, damit diese gespeichert und übertragen wird- nur mit dem grünen Button beenden? Wofür ist der rote/weisses Quadrat-Button da? Beendet sich die Aufzeichnung automatisch bei ( wie langer?) Inaktivität? Ist die Rote dann gespeichert?
So wundert es mich nicht, dass fast 1/3 der Mitglieder des offenen Teams 0 KM gesammelt haben, wahrscheinlich aufgrund der Undurchschaubarkeit der Funktionsweise der App...
Easy aber etwas langsam
Leicht zu bedienende App. Nur beim verwenden ist sie manchmal etwas langsam. U.U. Kann es sein, das angezeigt wird das ich nicht angemeldet bin. Neustart der App behebt dies zuverlässig. Eingetragene Kilometer benötigen ein paar Sekunden bis sie in der Team Statistik auftauchen.
Super ist die live tracking Funktion und, wenn man sie mal vergessen hatte zu nutzen, auch die gefahrenen Kilometer nachgetragen werden können.
Die Möglichkeit zur Verbesserung der Radwege (Cooperation mit der Stadt) ist ♥️!
