I bought Claquette because I was looking for a versatile tool that would help me create videos, either for instructional purposes or for recording high-value sessions with others.
Overall, the feature set is really good. The tool does what it is supposed to do and without errors. However, the performance both in terms of required storage size, time needed to save a session and especially the time needed to export a recorded session to a compact and exchangeable format like AAC really needs improvement!
Typically, the session size is about 100 GB for a recording that takes about 10-15 minutes. This prevents me from record interactive sessions with colleagues that take 30 minutes or more.
Also, the time needed to convert an 80 GB session to a mp4 file takes usually 10 or more minutes.
I have got an iMac with 8 cores and a powerful GPU with 8GB RAM. However, Claquette seems to utilize at most one CPU core and hardly stresses the GPU during the conversion process.
PLEASE, work on performance improvements before you add yet another feature. This is the only aspect that is suboptimal about Claquette at the moment!!!

You can reduce the file size during recording by choosing the "Performance" or "Size" presets in the recording window (in the "Capture content of" popup button). We also provide recording presets where you can further optimize the size of the recorded content. (e.g. by downscaling the resolution during recording). Ich muss leider eine Alternative zu diesem Programm suchen, denn ich finde die Handhabung sperrig, es stürzt ab, es ist einfach nicht zuverlässig.
Und das Icon sieht unendlich dröge in Launchpad aus :(
