Desktop Curtain is a simple tool to hide the clutter on your desktop, and help you focus on the task at hand. It's perfect for teachers, presenters, writers, developers, and anyone else that hates clutter and/or needs to take screenshots with clean background images.
Why waste time moving files and folders on and off of your desktop when Desktop Curtain can make things look spotless in a jiffy?
Desktop Curtain lets you set images via drag-and-drop or the standard file dialog, and it will remember your 10 most-recently-used images.
You can also control at what "level" the image floats (and hence, how much stuff it covers), and whether it affects all monitors or just one.
You can use Desktop Curtain to focus only on the frontmost application, too — or even the frontmost window, to really narrow your focus.

Elegant, einfach und jetzt auch mit netten neuen Funktionen
Tja, was soll man sagen. Für alle, die häufig Screenshots erstellen müssen, vor allem zur Veröffentlichung, ist diese App wirklich Pflicht. Endlich mit nur einem Klick den ganzen Müll auf dem Schreibtisch vergessen und konsistente Screenshots in Serie produzieren.
die wichtigste Funktion fehlt leider
Bei der älteren und kostenlosen Version 1.1 konnte man das Programm durch Doppelklick auf das Programmsymbol starten und durch einen erneuten Doppelklick wieder beenden (hatte man das Programm im Dock abgelegt, reichte jeweils ein einfacher Klick auf das Icon, um den Desktop zu verdecken bzw. wieder sichtbar zu machen). Diese Option steht nun leider nicht mehr zur Verfügung: Ein Doppelklick auf das bereits geöffnete Programm bewirkt nun, dass das Einstellungsfenster geöffnet wird. Bei der alten Version konnte man dieses Verhaten in den Einstellungen festlegen; bei der neuen Version geht das leider nicht mehr. Schade!
Schönes Programm
Das Programm funktioniert einwandfrei und insbesondere die Option das Programm ohne Icon im Dock oder in der Menüleiste laufen zu lassen hat es mir angetan.
Ich wünsche mir als Verbesserung allerdings, dass zum einen automatisch das aktuelle Hintergrundbild verwendet wird (wenn irgendwie möglich, denn alles andere sieht bei pseudotransparenter Menüleiste etwas seltsam aus), zum anderen würde es mir gefallen, wenn die Menüleiste beim Klick auf das Bild zum Finder wechselt (vergleiche normales Desktopverhalten).
