Besser als erwartet

Nachdem unsere betagte 1100 zu Bruch gegangen ist, steuert jetzt eine Elite plus Hub den ganzen Wahnsinn zuhause. Durch den Vorgänger war ich beim Programmieren von Fernseher, AppleTV, Telekom-Entertain, Surround-Anlage und Alexa auf das schlimmste gefasst. Nach zwei Nachmittagen läuft alles wieder halbwegs.

Eine gewisse Leidensfähigkeit muss vorhanden sein, sonst sollte man lieber weiter mit der üblichen Fernbedienungs-Sammlung auf dem Wohnzimmertisch arbeiten. Wer durchhält, wird mit einem hochkomplexen System belohnt, das nach ordentlich Feintuning tatsächlich alle Fernbedienungen ersetzt und die Heimautomation drastisch erleichtert. Bis dahin ist es allerdings ein steiniger Weg. Schon die Registrierung wollte nicht gelingen. Erst über den PC konnte ich ein Konto eröffnen, da die Fernbedienung durch ein Update blockierte. Danach gab die sperrige Software auf dem iPad Rätsel auf. Irgendwann läft dann alles, inklusive Alexa, die jetzt den Fernseher bedienen kann. Ausser, er ist zu laut gestellt...

Bedenkt man, wieviele Tausende von unterschiedlichsten Geräten ansteuerbar sind, ist die Komplexität des Systems und damit der Software kein Wunder, daher, trotz zahlreicher Flüche und Recherchen: 4 Punkte.

Die Harmony Elite...

...bekommt von mir an sich die volle Punktzahl, denn die Bedienung der Geräte über die Hardware ist einfach, zuverlässig und das ganze Setup ist hochwertig verarbeitet.

Jetzt geht es hier aber um die App, und da muss ich etwas differenzieren: Die Konfiguration der Geräte über die App funktioniert für mich einwandfrei und mit abschließender Bedienung über die Hardware wäre das 5 volle Sterne wert. Jetzt funktioniert die App aber auch selbst als Fernbedienung und da muss man sagen... das ist nix. Das Bedienkonzept unterscheidet sich grundlegend von der Elite Fernbedienung und ist nicht gerade intuitiv. Da saß kein Produktdesigner dran, sondern das haben die Entwickler der App halt so eben mit gemacht - zumindest kommt mir das so vor. Für diese Funktion alleine würde es maximal 2 Sterne geben. Scheinbar ist Logitech selbst ganz glücklich mit dem Konzept, denn daran hat sich seit meinem Kauf vor 3 Jahren nichts geändert.

Da ich aber zum Glück nicht auf die App zur Bedienung im Alltag angewiesen bin und Einrichtung der Geräte sowie Bedienung über die Harmony Elite echt top sind, gibt’s insgesamt 4 Sterne von mir.

Man muss sich damit beschäftigen, dann klappt’s

Wenn man diese an sich geniale Eine-für-alles-Fernbedienung gekauft hat, wusste man ja, dass man einiges an Konfigurationsarbeit reinstecken muss. Wenn man ein System mit vielen verschiedenen Komponenten hat, muss man sich halt reinknien und es dauert eine Weile, bis alles so schaltet, wie es erforderlich ist. Es wäre schön gewesen, wenn es noch eine Weiterentwicklung gegeben hätte mit Bluetooth-Integration, sodass man auch die PS 5 direkt steuern könnte und nicht nur indirekt via HDMI-CEC. Ich habe Verständnis dafür, dass Logitech den Verkauf einstellt, der erforderliche Supportaufwand war sicher gigantisch. Zu bemängeln habe ich nur, dass der Hub ab und zu für eine Weile die WLAN-Verbindung verliert, das hat sich gebessert, nachdem ich das 1-Ampère-Netzteil durch eines mit 5V/2.0A ersetzt habe. Das WLAN-Modul scheint mehr Stromstärke zu brauchen. Nun hoffe ich, dass die Harmony noch viele Jahre hält, denn etwas Besseres scheint nirgends in Sicht zu sein.
