Good device, but App has room for improvement

First of all, it is a new device and a new app. So bugs and drawback are not uncommon and I hope Iridium will read these reviews and take them seriously. This app has designed to be used with different devices, my testing was with the Iridium GO!. This device is working quite good and does what it promised (except the quite fast battery depleting…). Users have to know that Iridium is offering only a very slow internet connection, so this app has been designed to cope with that.
Setup is quite easy, you have to register your device on a website and will be allocated a @myirdium.net e-mail. This mail is only accessible via satellite, so if you give that to friends, they do not know you will check it. It would be a big advantage to have access via the regular internet as well, to check mail within GSM or Wifi range and saving satellite traffic as well. The size of any inbound mail is limited to 2 MB, which is fair enough. You have the opportunity to forward your personal mail to the Iridium account (I do), to keep only one point of contact. There is an option to fetch mail, which not worked on my account for one reason. Also the SMS notification of new mail did not work.
There is no possibility to download just the mail headers to decide what mail you are going to download. The work-around is setting the maximum size to 10KB and all bigger mail going into the „big Mail“ folder letting you the choice to download them or not. If you try to download fairly big mail, let’s say 1 MB it may take hours, with lots of lost connections. The dial-up process take about 30 seconds, but there is no automatic re-try if connection got lost. You have to manual connect again.
If the connection is lost during the download, the new one ist starting at the last point (the size counter is indicating negative values sometimes, I do not know why).
Unfortunately this feature is not working on uploads, so if the connection got lost during upload you have to start over again.
You can upload images or attachments, but files can only be taken from camera or photos, as other files need to be put on the app via itunes first. There is no „open in“ feature with this app to transfer files from other applications.
Unlike the GO! App there is not status bar within the app, indicating the reception and connection status.
The web browser has to set-up separately and you use Opera. Iridium has set-up a „whitelist“ of webpages they found useful. This list does not reflect every bodies wishes and some links are outdated already.
I did not use Facebook or Twitter, because I do not use that.
Summary:
Wishes and recommendations:
-Internet based access to the @myirdium.net e-mail.
-Web based e-mail settings, like forwarding, fetching etc.
-Download headers only feature
-Automatic (optional) restart of the connection process, if lost.
-Open in feature to import files from other apps.
-Smart Upload to restart on the same place before the connection got lost.
-More flexible „White List“ including e.g. Wikipedia and room for customer wishes.
-Weather charts

Achtung Finger weg.

Not working at all

With the update even the button for mails disappeared. Before it was already a bad app, no it is not usable at all.
Does anyone check what was programmed?
