Description
Pico Compiler is a lightweight development environment for writing Java programs.
Key features:
• Java 9 offline compiler
• Developer keyboard - Developer keyboard adds a new row of keys to the default on-screen keyboard. It consists of swipe buttons with all common symbols, punctuation and brackets, and a special navigation key.
• Smart code completion - Pico will complete the names of classes, methods, fields, and keywords within the visibility scope. When you invoke code completion, Pico Compiler analyses the context and suggests the choices that are reachable from the current position of the caret.
• Black UI theme - protect your eyes with the dark theme.

Super für’s Java-Übersetzer
Um begleitend zu Übungen/Tutorials den Code auszuprobieren ist es unschlagbar. Z.B. Mit Buch und iPad auf dem Schoß kann man gut hin und her jonglieren.
Toll wäre noch, wenn man seine Projekte in der Cloud speichern könnte, so dass man auf die Dateien via mac mit einer professionellen IDE zugreifen könnte, um dort weiter zu arbeiten. Oder ganz großartig wäre ein Upload via GIT/Github. In beiden Fällen wäre ich bei 5 Sternen.
Natürlich wäre eine Code Vervollständigung noch super, man muss aber auch bedenken, dass es sich um eine 3,49 € iPad App handelt und nicht um eine IDE, für die man locker 100 € im Jahr bezahlt und dann auch ein bisschen mehr Rechenpower und RAM für flüssiges Arbeiten benötigen würde.
Gut für einfache Anwendungen
Die Pro-Version erlaubt Ein- und Ausgaben auf der Konsole und bietet somit die Möglichkeit, funktionierende und einfache Programme zu erstellen, also optimal für mich als Anfänger.
Die Darstellung von JFrames scheint allerdings nicht zu funktionieren, es wird stattdessen ohne Fehlermeldung eine (in meinen Augen recht kryptische) Konsolenausgabe getätigt. Ich würde mich freuen wenn dies eventuell in einem Update nachgerüstet werden würde.
Nichtsnutz
Der Download der App hat 100 MB meines Internets verbraucht....
Wofür???
Diese App kann nichts. Das einzige was sie kann ist ein einfaches „Hallo Welt“ Programm auszuführen, was man noch nicht einmal selber geschrieben hat. Zum Programmieren braucht man dann schon die kostenpflichtige Pro Version und die 100 MB sind auch futsch!
Ich frage mich, wofür es diese gratis Version gibt, vielleicht dient diese App ja nur als Lockvogel.🧐🧐🧐🧐
