Description
Kiwix enables you to have the whole of Wikipedia (and many other web sites) available wherever you go! On a boat, in the middle of nowhere, or when data charges are too high, Kiwix gives you access to the whole human knowledge for free. You don't need Internet, everything is stored on your mobile device!
Download the Kiwix program from the iTunes App Store then download the ZIM data files which contain the content. You can download these files directly using the Kiwix App on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

"Wikipedia offline" ist unverzichtbar als Reiseführer, nur...
...kleine Schwächen im Handling.
Nie wieder ohne "Wikipedia offline" (5GB, wenn keine Fotos dabei sind) in den Urlaub! Besser als jeder Reiseführer findest Du weitgehende Infos über die Orte, Personen, Epochen, die Dich interessieren. Auch ohne Empfang hast Du Wikipedia und andere Bücher immer dabei.
Das Scrollen bis zur deutschen Wikipedia-Downloaddatei dauert endlos, und Abkürzungen über Buchstaben wie bei den Kontakten gibt es nicht. Ansonsten: Sehr gute Arbeit!
Offline Wikipedia ist must have
Wikipedia offline am Handy zu haben ist für mich eine Must have Funktion. Lange Zeit gab es aber keine vernünftige und gepflegte App mehr dafür.
Danke daher für diese App. Hoffentlich wird sie dauerhaft gepflegt und die Finanzierung bleibt gewährleistet.
Ich habe heute die deutsche Wikipediadaten vom Stand Mai 2020 geladen. Da gibt es auch für die in anderer Rezension reklamierten Suchtreffer für DDR und Test. Alles gut.
