We want to change social media towards strengthening the connections we have to our neighborhoods and the people with whom we share them.

kreisel is a spontaneous event focused social media app. It allows users to create and find events (aka kreisel) in their neighborhoods that get them to explore their surroundings. When people connect in a kreisel they enhance the shared experience and live in the moment.

Connections and friendships made in kreisel are based on real encounters and not binge befriending. Making friends means leaving the couch and exploring what the world has to offer.

SPIN
Create a new event (aka kreisel) in seconds. Make people aware of cool things happening in your neighborhood. Meet people to share the excitement.

CHAT
Message with everyone in your kreisel – jointly and individually. Enhance the shared experience rather than distract everyone’s attention.

DISCOVER
Serendipitously find interesting things to do RIGHT NOW. Places that disappear when attention fades. With fond memories being the only thing that remains.

kreisel was created to move people together this summer and explore their surroundings, but unfortunately due to social distancing that is exactly the opposite of what is advisable at the this time.
We do however believe that kreisel can allow people in the same neighborhood to connect and reduce social isolation in new ways.
Go ahead, give it a spin and get to know your neighbor.

This app has amazing potential! There are still some bugs, but the developer team is super responsive and looking to make regular improvements.
