A 30-day free in-app trial is available, after which point an annual subscription is required. Family Sharing, that supports the original platform that you started your subscription from, is included for no additional cost.

Subscriptions are charged annually and automatically renew, with account charged at the original subscription price, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Version 4.5.1

Family Sharing has arrived in v4.5.1 and supports the original platform that you started your subscription from, for no additional cost.

Magic Lasso Adblock v4.5 is a complete redesign of the user-friendly, privacy aware and platform-native Safari ad blocker for the iPhone, iPad and Mac. Version 4.5 delivers a "powerfully simple ad blocking experience" with simplified ad, tracker and annoyance blocking. The redesign better surfaces all of the app’s features and we’ve also focused on making advanced features, like Custom Rule creation, more accessible.

This version also includes these great new features from recent releases:
- Performance Insights – see the difference ad blocking makes and visualise ad blocking speed, energy efficiency and data savings for any site. You can use the Safari toolbar button to see the ad blocking speed increase, energy savings, carbon reduction, data savings and the number of ads and trackers prevented. And with Insights on the Overview screen of the Magic Lasso app, you can view the data and energy saved, along with the average speed increase and total number of ads blocked since you enabled Magic Lasso.
- Tap to Block – Simply tap any element on a web page and watch it disappear from your view, ensuring it never disturbs your browsing again. And thanks to Tap to Block’s intelligence, any similar or repeating elements on the page, or across the whole site will also be removed. Adjustments are easy using the Expand or Contract buttons for refining your selection. Additionally, the Hide button provides an instant preview of the page without the selected elements visible. Advanced users seeking direct control can edit the resulting CSS to allow for precise selection and more sophisticated logic.
- Custom Rules – Craft your own ad blocking rules to block media, cookies, and JavaScript. Probleme mit deutschen Webseiten

Magic Lasso ist schnell und hat wenig Ressourcenbedarf. Das Problem ist nur dass bei einigen Webseiten ein Platzhalter für die Anzeigen gezeigt wird, was natürlich nicht gut ist. Auch bei sehr vielen deutschen Webseiten werden leider weiterhin Anzeigen gezeigt..Da muss man dringend nachbessern.

Im Rahmen unseres nächsten App-Updates werden wir universelle Abonnements für macOS und iOS einführen. Diese Funktion erfordert einige zusätzliche Implementierung und Codierung, um nahtlos zu funktionieren. Aus diesem Grund haben wir sie zunächst separat abonniert.

Deutschland-Probleme

Update: Es tut sich hier auch nichts, deshalb reduziere ich die Wertung auf einen Stern. Deutsche Werbung und Tracker werden schlichtweg großflächig nicht geblockt. Gerade eben wieder über einen Skyscraper Ad gestolpert. Schade, ich hätte gedacht da kommt noch was. Anscheinend konzentriert man sich aber nur auf den US-Markt und so kommt in Deutschland dann leider viel zu viel durch. Abo wird nächstes Jahr nicht verlängert und da schon mehrere Monate vergangen sind, besteht seitens des Entwicklers wohl auch kein Interesse daran, etwas zu ändern.

Original: Guter AdBlocker, der sehr minimal und somit schnell ist. Das mag ich. Allerdings ist er nicht für deutsche Website angepasst, weshalb hier vieles leider nicht geblockt wird. Wenn diese Anpassung noch kommt, bin ich gerne bereit, den deutlich höheren Preis zu zahlen, der für das Abo fällig wird. Schließlich ist das Pflegen der Blocklisten etwas, was dauerhaft stattfindet und dementsprechend bezahlt werden will. Aber dann doch bitte auch für deutsche Websites und eben etwas umfangreicher als aktuell. Da leisten derzeit viele andere einen besseren Job für deutlich weniger Geld. Behalte ich im Auge und bewerte gerne neu, wenn sich etwas tut. Immerhin blockiert er Werbung auf YouTube, was viele andere AdBlocker aktuell nicht mehr schaffen.

Wir werden Magic Lasso Adblock weiter verbessern, unter anderem durch die Aufnahme zusätzlicher Unterstützung für nicht-englische Websites als Teil zukünftiger Versionen. Wie Sie bemerken, sind wir auch die beste Option, um alle YouTube-Anzeigen einschließlich Videoanzeigen zu blockieren.

Ich bin begeistert, endlich einen werbefreien Safari zu haben! Die Webseiten werden tatsächlich schneller geladen. Magic Lasso bindet sich sehr gut in das macOS System ein und arbeitet entspannt im Hintergrund. Man erhält viel Leistung for free. Mir gefällt es, dass aber weitere Features als Pro Version angeboten werden.
