Mast is a beautiful Mastodon app built with macOS design guidelines in mind. It’s as feature-packed as it is gorgeous. The stunning timelines make reading the latest content a joy.
“What is Mastodon?”, you may ask. It’s a federated and decentralised social network. Think of it as email, where you can choose your provider, yet talk with almost anyone from anywhere regardless of their choices. The instances on Mastodon give users freedom to find their community, whilst allowing everyone to talk with each other with the level of visibility that they want. The content warning feature makes it safer, and the increased character count makes it far more expressible. It’s what microblogging should have always been.

Ich bin etwas enttäuscht
Das posten von Medien klappt nicht per Share Button (App sendet toot nicht ab) und ich wechsle beim scrolle ständig aus versehen nach rechts/links. Die Bedienung ist mir nicht eingänglich, es scheint sich auch nichts daran zu ändern...
Sehr hübsch, leider nicht ausgereift
Ich will die App wirklich mögen, sie sieht gut aus und ist angenehm zu bedienen. Leider wird bei Videos kein Ton abgespielt, die Benachrichtigungen funktionieren nicht und bei der Aktualisierung des Feeds stürzt die App häufig ab, deshalb leider nur 2 Sterne.
Ärgerlich, wie schlecht diese funktioniert.
Zuerst dachte ich, wenn ich anfange eine Mastodon-Instanz richtig zu nutzen, würde diese App sehr nützlich sein, zumal es Support für mehrere Konten hat. Zudem war Push mir wichtig.
Push hat es leider überhaupt nicht. Ein zweites eingerichtetes Konto wird nicht genug aktualisiert. Zudem lädt es immer wieder Dinge zwischen den Konten nach und verwechselt ständig Inhalte von einem Konto mit dem anderen.
Übel ist zudem: Es hat einige Fehler (z.B. darf man für Toots nicht zur Sicherheit als Default "direct message" eingestellt haben, das man später bei der Message selbst auf Follower, Unlisted oder Public ändert). Und vor allem der Wechsel zwischen Konten führt oft zu Abstürzen.
Sehr schade.
Bei der App "Toot!" von Dag Green habe ich nun die Lösung gefunden.
Es unterstützt Push und ist bisher nie abgestürzt auf iPhone & iPad (zugegeben: erst heute gekauft und noch nicht extensiv genutzt, aber verschiedenes schon probiert & zwei Konten genutzt, die beide unerwartet Push ermöglichen, obwohl eine Instanz sehr klein ist).
