Why is it high time for Melting?

There are plenty of dating-platforms out there.
Melting is not the thousandth one, but it's not a dating-platform at all.
Melting is the first anti-dating-platform.

Our Perspective:
The core concept of many dating-platforms dehumanizes people.

By neglecting character, dating-platforms consume a lot of time and money so that, with a stroke of luck, you find THE ONE person.

People are treated like items in a catalog, which puts users in a massive competition primarily based on appearances.

The consequence: If not thoughtfully designed, social technologies can have noticeably negative impacts on our interactions.

Melting is different because we start with the following question: How can an app, designed to meet people, do justice to the complexity of each individual?

At first glance, Melting appears empty of people.
There's no swiping through profiles, no liking or X-ing people.

Instead of photos, the focus of the app is rating statements.

With sliders, you indicate how much statements apply to yourself and how much they should apply to the person you're looking for. This distinction is important so that everyone doesn't just meet a reflection of themselves.

Instead of spending hours searching for THE ONE person, you can sit back and forget about Melting once you set up your account.

Who can see me?

You will only be shown to the few individuals who have the highest compatibility with you.
So only the right people will know that you're on Melting – not the whole world.

No paid advantages, no subscriptions.

Wirklich anders!

Hat echt überhaupt nichts mit anderen Dating Apps zu tun. Die Aussagen sind unterhaltsam und reichen von lustig bis tiefgründig. Das Bewerten der Aussagen dauert zwar etwas, aber man merkt sofort wofür man es macht. Habe mir vorher noch nie so detailliert darüber Gedanken gemacht, was ich wirklich möchte und was nicht.
Danke an die Entwickler, dass ihr frischen Wind und Charakter in den Dating-Markt bringt!

Wirklich gut, hat aber noch Potenzial

Bis jetzt bin ich sehr positiv angetan von dem Konzept, der Transparenz und Struktur der App. Das Erscheinungsbild ist modern, kann evtl. nicht mit einer App mithalten, in der viel mehr Finanzierung steckt und muss ein paar Minuten erkundet werden, um sich zurechtzufinden, aber das ist kein echtes Problem.
Das einzige, was ich mir spontan wünschen würde, wäre eine neutrale Antwortmöglichkeit bei den Fragen. Während ich bei meiner potenziellen Partnerin für jede Aussage wählen kann, dass mir ihre Meinung dazu egal ist, kann ich für mich selber nur zwischen 4 Stufen von ‚Trifft gar nicht auf mich zu‘ bis ‚Trifft absolut auf mich zu’ wählen.
Es gibt keine neutrale Mitte, dabei würde ich mich zu ca. 20% der Fragen gerne neutral positionieren, weil ich entweder nicht genug Ahnung habe, um die Frage adäquat zu beantworten oder weil es mir schlichtweg egal ist.

Ansonsten macht die App aber einen überaus sympathischen Eindruck! Wurde mir vorgeschlagen über eine Email über den Uni Verteiler, wünsche in dem Zuge also weiterhin viel Erfolg mit dem Projekt!

Absolut Klasse App

Bin auf vielen Dating-Seiten unterwegs, aber so eine hab ich bisher noch nicht gesehen. Sehr geiles Design und super aufgebaut. Mein Favorite-Feature ist auf jeden fall dass man wirklich sehr spezifisch sein kann und damit viel höhere Chancen hat jemanden zu finden, der auf dasselbe aus ist, wie man selbst. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen!
