MochiKanji - Learn Japanese 4+

I tried this app once cause someone recommended it to me. I’ve used it for a few months now, and it helped me a lot to learn kanji and be able to recognize it! The theme song and the mascot are really cute, and the theme in general makes me feel like I’m playing a game rather than just learning, similar to duolingo. The reminder to repeat vocab also helps to keep going.

Only thing I’d improve is that, if you’ve learned for a long time and then you pause for some weeks, there are a lot of words you have to repeat at a time. I often had to repeat 100 or 200 words, and it takes a lot of dedication to then take time to do so. Now I have about 800 words that I have to repeat at a time (I haven’t used it in a month due to a trip) and it’s really hard to make time for repeating that much vocab, I also think it’s not good to repeat that many vocab at a time.
Ofc you can always stop the lesson while repeating, and it tracks your process, so you don’t have to repeat all of it, but I think it’d be nice to have a feature that helps you get into learning more easily again and with fun :)

Other than that, I love this app!! Can recommend it, helps you improve and be able to comprehend pretty fast! I like to pair it with reading in Japanese, so you can look up every vocabulary you don’t know yet and repeat it with this app! :)

The app overall is good, BUT the fact that you can only do 2 lessons for free (which are 30 words) is absolutely ridiculous. To unlock the other lessons you have to pay $30! That’s way too much. Not everyone can purchase that, me included. I wish that at least all N5 lessons could be for free.. I have no idea what i’m supposed to do with only 30 words. The thing is, the app is really good overall and I did learn a few new words in a quite fun way, but just like I said it’s literally only 30 words for free. I’m sorry if I sound repetitive but I really expected more. More things should be available for free, or at least with a lower price. There’s alot of learners that are not adults and go to work and can afford it so easily, I myself am a 8th grader student.
