The Nextcloud Talk app requires a Nextcloud Talk server to function. Nextcloud is a private, self-hosted file sync and communication platform, designed to put you back in control over your data. Es geht nichts mehr...
Liebes Team von Nextcloud,
ich finde es an sich super, dass es eine Alternative zu WhatsApp gibt, die man z.B. wie bei mir an der Fachakademie benutzt. Die App steckt aber noch sehr in der Anfängen und man bemerkt diverse Kinderkrankheiten. Nachrichten laden nicht, es fühlt sich noch nicht so Rund an... und seit dem Update vor 3 Tagen auf Version 10.0.0 geht nichts mehr. Sobald ich auf das App Icon klicke schließt sich die App sofort wieder. Löschen und erneutes Installieren führten ebenfalls zu keiner Lösung. Ein Handy Restart brachte auch keine Besserung. Es gibt immer jemand an der Akademie, der Probleme mit der App hat und ich finde es schade, wenn man dann wieder auf andere Messenger-Alternativen zurückgreifen muss. Ansonsten eine super Idee, eine App zu schaffen, die ihre Server in DE hat...
Faire Alternative zu den „Großen“
„Zugriff gewähren“ hat erst funktioniert, nachdem serverseitig die Option overwriteprotocol --value="https" gesetzt war (nextcloud läuft bei mir hinter einem Proxy). Bei der Nextcloud App (nicht Talk) ging es über App-Passwort mit QR-Code auch ohne diese Anpassung. Warum geht Scan des QR-Codes nicht auch bei Talk?
Ansonsten:
Wenn man die Vorzüge selbst gehosteter Anwendungen und die damit verbundene Datensouveränität sowie frei verfügbare Applikationen als nicht-kommerziell Nutzer*in schätzt, ist Nextcloud eine Alternative zu den Platzhirschen. Allerdings mit ein paar Abstrichen bei Integration und Komfort. Ob man diese Abstriche in Kauf nehmen kann / will, ist eine Entscheidung, die wohl jede*r individuell für sich treffen muss.
Endlich mit Push
Mit Nextcloud 15 und Version 5 der Talk-App nähert sich das Projekt einem vollwertigen (selbst hostbaren) Messenger...neue Nachrichten werden per Push und mit Nachrichtenzähler angezeigt! Genial!
