Beschreibung

Pensato allows you to explore over 1400 musical scales and modes. You can view the chords and notes of each scale for any root note. You can find scales by inputting notes on a piano keyboard, by picking from the circle of fifths or by choosing one of the auto-generated related scales. When you add multiple scales to your list you will be able to see what chords are shared between them. This is a great way to build up complex chord progressions and key modulations in your songs.

You can use Pensato simply as a learning tool or to build up scale progressions while composing music. The main idea was to make an app that focused on scale progressions instead of chord progressions, allowing you to evolve your music with more richness and interest than if you were to stay in one key. Open up Pensato in front of you while composing music and easily visualize chords in various scales to help you write interesting progressions.

Found what I was looking for!

This is so good. Finally a handy help to get a little bit more out there when writing songs, since my own knowledge of music theory is pretty limited.

One thing would be a super good update. Sometimes I find a 2/3 chord progression and then wonder in what key I am or could be and to which chords I possibly could transition. So if there would be another segment where I can select one ore more chords and the app shows in which keys the selected chord(s) are included.

Thanks for your work!

Awesome music tool

I immediately got this app when I saw your YouTube video using it once and I really enjoy using it to test out progressions. It’s almost perfect it’s missing two key features that I think would make it a big hit, one small thing is the scale degree labels are sort of misleading, they are all in capital roman letters so it looks like it’s all major but obviously some are minor and diminished etc.

The killer feature for me would be a chord progression notepad of sorts that would allow you to select and edit your chords and save them as a progression so you can reference them later. I know a notebook + paper does the same but it would be great to do it in app and maybe the selection could recommend or list similar chords in and out of key with some editable filters.
