Created by Saint Louis Art Museum and Madpixel, Second Canvas allows you to explore highlights of its Collection, with the best quality and resolution.
Main characteristics:
• Super-zoom to explore the works with the best possible quality, to the extent of being able to see the brushstrokes and craquelure of the painting, thanks to the Gigapixel resolution.
• Discover the incredible details and the stories behind them, told by the Museum team: characters, symbols, the technique or style of the artist.
• Share your own stories on social media, using the details of your choice.
• Download to your device the details of the works and their associated stories to have them with you even when you’re not connected or are in airplane mode.

Gute Idee, aber nur sehr wenige Bilder
Die etwa 10 Gemälde, die in dieser App zu sehen sind, sind gut fotografiert und hoch aufgelöst.
Auch die Infos zu den Bildern sind teils gut und sinnvoll integriert.
Leider sind es aber nur ein paar vereinzelte Bilder aus der Sammlung, und man kann auch (etwa per inApp-Kauf) weitere freischalten.
Die wenigen Bilder hat man schnell durchgesehen, und dann macht eine eigene App für so wenig Bilder nicht so wirklich viel Sinn.
