iMac screen is too bright for sensitive eyes. Shades is the solution. Shades is the utility for controlling the brightness of your iMac screen. When you use the iMac at night, you might find it is too bright for your eyes even though you have turned the screen to the darkest setting. This app comes to help. It makes really easy for you to change the screen to the darkest mode. It will make the screen much more comfortable to use. The app does not support the shades if other apps run in fullscreen mode.

I wear my sunglasses at night...
Finally, a simple plug-in which helps me working at night without illuminating the entire room I'm in. As much as I like working with my MBA hardware, sometimes the screen is still too bright indoors at night (I know, for some it may not be bright enough outdoors). This little piece of code dims down the screen, giving you enough levels of reducing brightness even below the lowest setting coming from your OS. Technically, it looks like a simple greyish/black area is layered over the whole screen, which opacity you then can control in small steps. I'm a nightowl, constantly working when the rest of the family is asleep, so this is really great for me, thanks a lot!
Schöner als die Pre-App-Store-Version, aber nur noch für Hauptmonitor geeignet
Die App ist nun schöner und simpler gestaltet, als die Vorgängerversion außerhalb des App-Stores. Leider funktioniert sie nur noch für den Hauptmonitor, die anderen Displays kann man nicht mehr variabel einstellen.
