Description

Teen Counseling lets you connect with a licensed therapist who specializes in helping teens like you. Whenever you need and wherever you are, just text your therapist or schedule a video or phone call. Your therapist is here to help you thrive!

HOW DO I START?
Invite your parent(s) to sign up. They fill out a consent form for you (required by law)
Once your parent subscribes, you will be matched with a licensed therapist and invited to your own therapy room
Your therapist will communicate with you on the Teen Counseling app using text, phone, and video

WHY DO I NEED PARENTAL CONSENT?
As required by law, a parent or legal guardian must fill out a consent form before you can receive online therapy services.

HOW DOES THERAPY WORK?
You and your therapist will get your own “room.”This will be your place to communicate with your therapist day or night. You can access this room from any internet connected device, wherever you are.

You can write about yourself, the things going on in your life, ask questions and discuss the challenges you’re facing. Your therapist will login to the same room and respond with feedback, insights and guidance.

Together you’ll work towards making a positive change in your life, accomplishing your goals and overcoming your troubles.

IS WHAT I SHARE WITH MY THERAPIST PRIVATE?
Your parent will not have access to this room. You can talk to your therapist about anything, but there are a few things that they would be required to share with either your parents or other adults. If you share any of the following issues with your therapist, they would have to break confidentiality for your protection or the protection of others:

• If you are seriously contemplating severely harming yourself or someone else.
• If you share with your therapist that you are being abused or neglected, or know of another individual under 18 who is being abused or neglected.
• If you share with your therapist that you know of an elderly person who is being abused or neglected.

Please consult with your therapist about what kind of information and updates your parent(s) may get regarding your work with your therapist.

WHO ARE THE THERAPISTS?
We require every Therapist providing services on the Platform to be an accredited, trained, and experienced licensed U.S. psychologist (PhD / PsyD), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed professional counselor (LPC), or similar applicable recognized professional certification based on their state and/or jurisdiction. Therapists must have a relevant academic degree in their field, at least 3 years of experience and at least 1,000 hours of hands-on experience.

Great solution

Easy to get immediate help for a troubled teen. Thanks to our counselor my kid feels he has a backup in handling his everyday life.

Disappointing

I have a really hard time opening up to people and social anxiety so it took me years to actually be like “hey maybe imma get some help online because nobody wants to help me irl(including my family)”. And Im going through this whole prosses actually having hope that this might help me only to see that first I need my parents to consent and they have to pay money???? I actually lost all hope at the moment and now I looked it up here on App Store and there’s nothing mentioned about payment??

ridiculous

i’m someone with family issues and i found it utterly ridiculous that i had to get my parents to pay 60€ for it. like i have family issues- how am i supposed to get them to pay for therapy if they don’t even know that i’m going through i lot of issues and can’t open up to them about it? i don’t think this was thought through very well.
