About the Tivizen TV Tuner
This app requires an Elgato Tivizen device. The Tivizen mobile TV tuner has a small, extendable and extremely robust aerial that receives the television signal (DTT/DVB-T/TNT/Freeview). Tivizen transmits that TV signal over to your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or computer. It sets up its own Wi-Fi hotspot or can be integrated into your home Wi-Fi network to be accessed by all computers and mobile devices. Tivizen does not require an internet connection and gives you unlimited TV without touching your data plan.
Elgato's Tivizen device also works great as a wireless TV tuner for a Mac or PC. Watch, record, edit and enjoy live TV on your computer, completely free from cables. Also, Tivizen can be connected directly with a Mac and PC via USB cable. Elgato's Tivizen mobile TV tuner comes with award-winning EyeTV software for Mac and THC software for Windows.
Important notes
• The availability and amount of program data varies by broadcaster.
• DTT/DVB-T/TNT/Freeview broadcasts vary in bitrate. Playback quality of high bitrate channels may be limited by 802.11g Wi-Fi network bandwidth.
• Elgato Tivizen supports MPEG-2 and MPEG-4/H.264 video in standard definition as well as DVB-T radio, if available. High definition channels, encrypted programs and/or DVB-T2 broadcasts are not supported.

Mein Tivizen verhält sich nach dem Update auf 1.2 sehr merkwürdig. Im neuen Heimnetzmodus ( der bei mir sofort und ohne Probleme funktionierte) findet die App auf dem iPhone 4 drinnen keine und draussen nur noch wenige Sender. Drinnen startet der Sendersuchlauf nur kurz und meldet dann, keine Sender gefunden. Draussen findet er dann bis zu 8 Sender. Komischerweise ist das Verhalten komplett anders. Drinnen 27 und draussen 32 Sender. Nach der Umstellung des Tivizen zurück auf den Hotspot Modus bekomme ich auch auf dem iPhone 4 drinnen wieder 27 Sender rein.
Ach wie war das alles schön einfach vor dem Update.

Die Tivizen App für iOS koppelt sich aber
Achtung: Erst Firmware aktualisieren
Ich war bei der Version 1.4.1 auch zunächst recht frustriert, als mein iPad2 keine Verbindung mehr zum Tivizen bekam. Nach etwas Recherche und ein paar Experimenten konnte ich dann über meinen iMac und die dort installierte Software EyeTV die Firmware des Tivizen aktualisieren. Danach funktionierte auch der Empfang auf dem iPad2 wieder.
Mein Tipp: Immer VOR dem Update der App die Firmware des Empfänger auf den neuesten Stand bringen. Denn nach dem Update der App auf 1.4.1 ging ein Firmware-Update über das iPad nicht mehr bzw. erst mit der aktuellen Firmware. Ein klassischer Catch 22...
Mit der aktuellen Version 1.4.2 hatte ich mit meinem iPad 2 jetzt überhaupt kein Problem - bei aktueller Firmware auf dem Tivizen...
