BUILD YOUR FORTRESS
Surround your base and fortify your walls. The more bases you acquire, the more cannons you will have at your disposal. Repair and fortify the base walls after each round to build up your defense.
PLACE YOUR CANNONS
Once you surround your fortress, place regular cannons, super cannons and powerful laser cannons. Be careful - place too many cannons and you will run out building space!
DESTROY!
Use your cannons to destroy Lord Evilz’ army. You’ll be facing angry huns, crazy warriors, giant war pandas, and eventually Lord Evilz himself! Every shot counts! Fortify your fort and destroy Evilz in Zen Wars!
ONLINE MULTIPLAYER

Super
Spiel und Spielprinzip sind super toll, vor allem, da man Multiplayer auf dem iPad spielen kann, auf dem Gerät selbst oder über das Internet. Super spielidee, klasse umgesetzt und allemal das Geld Wert! Kaufen!!!!
Enjoyable!
Ich habe damals Rampart bis zum Abwinken gespielt und habe mich sehr gefreut, dass bei ZenWars die Regeln nahezu 1:1 übernommen und teils sinnvoll etwas erweitert wurden. Das Zerstören von Brücken und ähnliche Missionen wirkt wie eine Frischzellenkur für das ohnehin schon tolle Gameplay (Echtzeit-Tower-Defense gepaart mit rundenweisem Tetris-Mauerbau).
Die Comic-Sequenzen sind witzig und erinnern mich etwas an Isnogut, der immer Kalif werden wollte anstelle des Kalifen...
Die Bedienung geht nach kurzer Eingewöhnung gut von der Hand (habe aber bisher auch nur auf dem iPad im 2x modus gespielt) und der Schwierigkeitsgrad zieht moderat an, sodass man stets leicht gefordert wird, ohne dass sich Frust breit macht.
Das automatische Kamera-Gezoome ist das Einzige, was mich ein wenig nervt, da ich meistens sofort wieder in meine lieblings-zoomstufe zurück will und dabei mit dem teilweise etwas störrischen pinch-zoom zu kämpfen habe. Das ist aber Jammern auf hohem niveau, liegt wahrscheinlich am iPad, dass ich den Sinn hinter dem Auto-Zoom nicht verstehe.
Insgesamt ein super Spiel! Sehr zu empfehlen!
I found a little bug:
when the 'low battery' alert pups up, the game halts. You have to close the app and start it again to continue the game (that has been saved correctly, so it's not too frustrating)... please fix this and you'll get a 5er ;)
Wie Rampart
Man baut seine Burgen auf, positioniert sein Kanonen und ballert dann auf die Gegner. In der nächsten Runde repariert man unter Zeitdruck seine Burgen (nur in geschlossenen Burgen kann man Kanonen positionieren), erweitert sie, positioniert neue Kanonen und alles geht von vorne los. Dazu gibt's eine gewollt witzige Story, die in Comic-Grafik erzählt wird.
Soweit so gut, wird aber schnell langweilig, weil zu einfach und anspruchslos. Ich weiß gar nicht, was Rampart damals anders gemacht hat, aber das habe ich länger gespielt als dieses Remake. Komisch auch, dass das Zen-/Chinesische Setting gar keine Rolle außerhalb der Zwischensequenzen spielt.
Für lau oder 89 Ct ganz nett, aber eben nicht mehr.
