Version 1.12.0
- Browse for Me Query Editing: When navigating a Browse for Me page in Arc, you can now edit your query directly. Simply click the up arrow in the bottom right corner of the screen, just as you would in regular tabs, to make your changes directly.
- New Browse for Me List Format: For searches where the results make the most sense as a list (e.g. “pizza in Washington DC” or “Nike sneakers from the 90s”), Browse for Me now returns results in a list format, making it easier to compare options.
- Advanced HTTPS Certificate Bypass: For users who understand the potential risks, we now offer the option to bypass invalid HTTPS certificates. This option allows you to continue accessing a website even when its security certificate cannot be verified.
Ratings and Reviews
Where Arc sync?
It would greatly improve experience if arc sync and Arc Search merge together. Also iPad app would help to fully switch from Safari. Looking forward to new updates.
No proper iPad app??
I was experimenting with it to see if I could replace Vivaldi now that they have a beta Windows version. But majorly disappointed to find out the iPad app is well, non-existent? Just a stretched out iPhone browser…
It doesn't work well as a browser
I wanted to love this browser so much, but I've been heavily disappointed. It may excel at being smart and having AI features, but it doesn't excel at being a browser. Here's why:
1. Swipe up from the button shouldn't show recent searches, but open the tabs view.
2. Misses a search/address bar at the bottom like Safari, making the experience on google miserable when using one hand. It shouldn't require 2 taps to search/type in a url in a browser. It's the most important function of a browser. Imagine if chrome hid their search bar and required you to open another menu first.
