Pool quality subtitles, etc.
Been watching four shows during my trial period and I probably won’t renew my subscription, due to a few problems. First of all, the Danish subtitles are not very good. Often times it’s as if the translators completely miss the context of the dialog, and other times English to Danish translation of text (signs, etc) is just plain wrong. For example in ep. 1 of ‘Payback’ an instruction manual for a home safe is shown, and on the cover it says ‘Home security unit’ which is translated to Danish as ‘Efterretningstjenesten’ which makes absolutely no sense, as that word in English would be ‘(Police) Intelligence Unit’.
I understand 98% of the English spoken on the shows but do rely on subtitles for some of the Irish and Scottish dialog. And it’s incredibly annoying and distracting when the subtitles make no sense. People who rely solely on subtitles can easily get lost in the story when something suddenly doesn’t make sense.
Other complaints; there’s no 4K or HDR - at least from what I’ve seen up until today. UHD formats are no longer exotic, and should be available on most content produced within the last eight years.
Also, in less than a week the app has asked me to sign in at least four times, which is quite annoying when using a random 25 character password. I’ve only used BritBox at home, and on one single Apple TV.
As I mentioned earlier earlier, I probably won’t renew my subscription. When things mentioned above have been sorted, I will definitely consider coming back, as the content - at least what I’ve seen - is very good.
The app is not working.
Brittbox has just started in Denmark, and I have signed up for a 7-day trial period. I can already say now that I am not continuing. The app constantly fails, no content is displayed on the front page. No content will start. The worst user experience I have experienced in streaming apps.
