So many small annoying details

Like the endless amount of spam from people who loves my art and wants to buy it. Telling me that I have to buy something to sell it. Most be easier to just steal my AI pictures? Or that they want to hire me if I just click on this file. That’s the only messages I got so far. Are there even real people there? After my cheap year, I delete the app and never come back
Plus the downgrade other mentioned too of course

Arbitrary, annoying, and irreversible ‘new’ features

I generally like DeviantArt (though not so much the website anymore, as it’s a huge downgrade for me, even more so as it’s so worse for the artists I followed, making it hard(er) for them to do what they like/love. But that may be for a different time). I’m a not a fan of this latest update (and that’s putting it nicely), so be honest, I absolutely hate the change made on the opening of the app; instead of opening it to see what’s new from those you’re following/watching, you’re ‘escorted’ into “recommended”, which is really frustrating, but then seeing I could just change where I open up to I though “at least I can revert it back to before”. NOPE! I have the options of
A) Recommended
B) Daily Deviations
C) Topics

So I can’t set to automatically show me the newest from those I’m following when opening the app, despite it being what it before this update.

I might have been willing to just ignore it, if there were any good, compensating features, like an update/upgrade to the notifications’ system, which there are none of.
My only real ‘saving grace’ (which is in regards to the notifications’ system) is that, from what I understand, it works fine for artists, a little bit those watchers that leave comments and get replies. Other than that... it’s not that good. I wish they added option to receive notifications when an artist you follow uploads something, made even better if we had the option to check those artists where we want to get notifications when they upload. Simple, and I mean SIMPLE, ffs, Twitter and other social media platforms have it, so why doesn’t this have it, when it’s LITERALLY an app/platform designed to upload and watch images and. It makes no sense.
But apparently it seems like it’s more important to further inconvenience the user with arbitrary, borderline useless, unimportant, annoying, user irreversible ‘features’.

I’m sorry to be so harsh, but it honestly seems and feels like DeviantArt cares more about they ‘can do’, instead of what they Should Do or what their users Need. Not to mention, while on this path, how little (if at all) they listened to the protests, concerns, arguments, etc. from their users, more specifically the artists, in regards to website ‘update/upgrade’ Eclipse. I know so many who still have trouble getting to understand this unnecessary permanent transition from the old site to Eclipse. It’s fine that the site can be switched back and forth between old and Eclipse to fit what people are most comfortable with. But that they then just announce that soon the website will only be Eclipse, is utter BS, even more so with all the complaints about it, being ignored.
I truly feel sorry for the artists I follow, most of them don’t have any real alternative because of DeviantArt many forms of art categories, that other place just don’t have. So not only are some essentially forced to stay because coverage, but also some of that coverage has become worse and harder to upload, meaning that while you could before post a W.I.P and then update it until it was finished, without having to fill up your gallery with the same post only on different stages, you have to either fill each time or actually have to not upload in a while to finish it, which could result in minor inconveniences like people leaving, or in very bad cases, result in the artist being bombarded with messages asking when they’ll return, or even getting threatened to. And that’s not even mentioning artist who do commissions, with the Eclipse as the sole site, many of them don’t have a way to show their commission prices and such when open for them, other than having to upload an image. I know there’s the “Commission” tab on profiles, but they’re more or less orders, meaning you place them, and the artist kinda have to comply.

To be honest, I want to leave 1 star, but I think I’ll leave it at 2, only because I care about the place and the artists I follow, and that I hope they’ll fix the damages they’re doing to not only themselves.

Cant upload...

profile pictures that arent blurry. I have tried using about 30 photos in all sizes from 100 x 100 to 2400 x 2400. In the end i had to give up, because the app suddenly decided to upload random images instead of the one i had just tried to upload.
