Stability has been much heightened, and rescaling of ordinary jpg/DNG files is not taking place anymore (i. e. size remains at 4032x3024 pixels). The new heic file format is also supported, as well as reading of png, tiff and other raw formats (i.e. Panasonic RW2).
Alas: TIFF files with 6040x4536 pixel produced by the iOS Cortex Cam App are still resized (to 4026 x 3024 pixel). Other RAW files containing 3464x4608 are saved as 1440x1920 pixel (Panasonic GX80) or 3104x4128 is also saved as 1440x 1920 pixels (Panasonic LX100); probably not even using the raw information, but only working on the embedded thumbprint constraining the result to... you guessed it: 1440x 1920 pixel thumbprint image size.
In no case, the user is warned about the, at times, rather dramatic resizing taking place. If you’re working on a series of files, you may not notice the problem before much later. For a paid App it is no good, that iOS supported formats can be dramatically crippled in size - “silently” without even an optional warning.
The last used “setting” is automatically applied as “default conversion” on a following image, easing similar manipulations of a series of images; a really nice touch. Save could need a bit more “kick”, though; the save performance feels ‘orribly slow on even a very fast iPadPro 10.5 512GB with ample free space.
