Smartcoach App 4+

SmartCoach is a mobile app designed by educators, for educators. The app introduces teachers and educators to the Inspiring Teaching Framework, which consists of a set of principles that explains the science of teaching as well as 27 powerful teaching techniques to use in the classroom. The app provides videos, illustrations, clear definitions and success criteria for each technique. In this way, SmartCoach is a valuable resource for teachers, providing them with a practical toolkit in the palm of their hands.

In addition to the content of the Inspiring Framework, teachers and school leaders are able to partner with colleagues from their school and conduct peer coaching cycles. The app provides step-by-step guidance on how to observe and provide feedback to colleagues and helps teachers work through the framework focussing on a technique a week.

School Leaders can use the app to facilitate staff meetings and track attendance of staff meetings, as well as conducting regular learning walks of their classroom teachers to check the progress they are making.

As well as these core features, we're excited to be introducing a student area in the app which will allow teachers to register attendance and conduct literacy assessments of their students.

SmartCoach has been designed to work in low-resource contexts. Any progress a user makes in the app can be saved offline and is uploaded to the cloud whenever their device connects to the internet. Activity takes up very low amounts of data. The videos in the app can be downloaded to a users device so they can be watched offline and have been optimized to play at low internet speeds and compressed to not use high amounts of data when watched online via streaming.
