No contest the best course provider out there
... for personal (non-accredited) use. A large library covering any and all topics. I have taken around 25 full courses in primarily physics, philosophy, and music, and practically every single one has been of high to very high quality.
Easily worth double the asking price (for comparison, just check the single course prices on thegreatcourses.com). It is priced fairly high compared to regular streaming services, and you will not have anything but that soon to be big brain of yours to show for it, but I am at the point where it is actually undecided whether I would rather terminate my Netflix account.
My scope is just personal enlightenment and entertainment. I guess this fits the target audience, although I understand that some people (also) use the courses as a supplement while taking or giving formal education.
The player, though, is bad. BAD.
Great content, poor app
I love the service, but the app is not very good.
It often becomes irresponsive, audio and visual drifts out of sync for non downloads, and downloading often stops for no reason
I want to give this 5 stars, because of the content, but this is unfortunately a review of the app.
Dominating my screen time
My subscription to Audible was mainly to get access to Great Courses audio; now THIS exists, I immediately canceled my Audible subscription, and have not looked back since. Netflix and HBO has been virtually unused since( ‘cept by the kids), as I can always justify to myself why I should learn new stuff ☺️
Having just started studying History at university, I am very satisfied with the courses in that category. Highest marks from me 👍🏻
