WYXR 91.7 FM is a non-profit, listener supported radio station in Memphis, TN, which connects Memphis and its surrounding area to the globe, celebrating the rich heritage of music in the region. Deeper than the King of Rock N’ Roll, Blues and the Tender Soul hitmakers of Memphis history, the station champions the discovery of music among our neighbors, highlighting independent, homegrown acts whose music may have missed the mark of widespread acclaim in its heyday, along with a hearty helping of soon-to-be local stars of the here and now. Our DJs, talk and news hosts are given the room to explore the endless bounds of various genres. Our format isn’t based on charts, stats and demographics.
