Description
This App has been developed by the University of St Andrews to help collect data from fishers involved in the Western Isles Creel Limitation Project led by Marine Scotland. The App is designed to allow fishers to record the details of their catch, to be able to submit this data to a secure database and to generate an output in a format that they may submit to their local Fishery Office as required.
Project participants can use this app to:
- Record what they catch and discard in real time
- Record detailed records of fishing activity
- Use those records to create a spreadsheet detailing activity over the course
of a week
- Record the locations of unmarked creels
- Record wildlife observations
What’s New
Version 1.1
This version expands the previous functionality around unmarked gear to allow fishers to report any equipment that they lose or come across.
It also fixes a bug which stopped users from entering 0 retained when recording a catch.
