Love this game
2nd try
This was my 2nd time playing. I played at year 1 and now at year 6.
I have to say in my first run I got slapped hard due to my own inexperience and due to the the lack of timing on my Shield.
In the second run I managed well until level 26 fortress, Tier10/Tier13 ships, research mostly completed, all main buildings mostly level 26 aswell, all ships upgraded.
Negatives:
At that point I ran out of auto-hunting tickets, NPC area+merchant ship attack tickets - so a significant loss of resource grind there. At the same time Events to speed up the hiring, building, research and all else started - a true mecca for big spenders. And in a 2 month old server there were quite a few. Fighting them is pointless - you will lose since they can get ships out of a reward box - for euros & dollars. The cap between spenders and non-spenders weren’t that significant prior to the events.
The game started to punish a free player for his/her love for the game - you can’t even PVE since you don’t have the premission tickets.
Servers are also merging which indicated a loss of interest by the playerbase.
Positives:
No ads/limited optional ads for healing, hiring, building speed etc.
Good Alliance system
Good rewards for F2P player even tho they are scarse and would need a pump up in reward size since the need for resource pumps up fast.
Active playerbase (up to a point)
Game gets weekly maintenence and updates.
In the end the game is good but would benefit from a private server or a pve only focused server. The P2W model and punishment of a F2P players is something that can’t be missed.
Good for 1-2 months of grind, not worth anymore.
PS! I spent 5€ on building speed up just to experience the game faster :)
