The Birdcage
A Mystery Puzzle Game
The Birdcage presents a series of elaborate, multipart puzzles in the form of – you guessed it – intricate birdcages. Each of these gorgeous contraptions is securely locked, and the only way to pop the door and release the beautiful bird inside is to solve a set of 'room escape'-style brainteasers.
With swipes and taps, you’ll flip switches, turn dials and decipher codes. The challenges really take flight as the game progresses, with all kinds of elaborate clockwork machinery (magnets, lasers, remote-controlled robot arms!) coming into play.
Pocketing the gems scattered around each cage lets you buy hints for when you’re stuck, although if you keep poking and prodding at each conundrum, the clever solutions will reveal themselves. Illustrated notes tucked away in random nooks and crannies tell the heartbreaking tale of a king, his son, and the reason these innocent avians were locked in their gilded prisons.
An AR (augmented reality) mode adds a wild new dimension to the puzzle-solving process. After placing a virtual cage on your real-world tabletop, you can walk around it in 360 degrees – moving in closer to spin gears, slide blocks, and watch your prisoners take wing when you finally set them free.
