5 quick tips for Secret Neighbor

Secret Neighbor

A Horror Social Multiplayer

View

The creepy guy next door seems like he’s up to no good, but there’s only one way to know for sure in Secret Neighbor: break into his house and start snooping!

You have to be careful sneaking through this multiplayer spin-off of Hello Neighbor, though. Whether you’re playing as one of the five heroic youngsters searching for keys to the mansion’s basement door or as their sweater-vested nemesis, try these tips to come out on top.

The Clown character class isn’t just off-the-charts freaky – it also lets players toss a smoke bomb or camouflage as random objects.

1. Think colourfully

When playing as a kid, start by scoping out the door and note the lock colours. Don’t waste time searching for red keys if the door has no red locks.

2. Double means trouble

The evil neighbour can transform himself into a copy of a nearby child – a sinister power he’ll use to catch kids by surprise. If you see two identical teammates, remember one is the bad guy. See your own twin? Run!

3. Carry on

Keep an object – any object – in hand at all times, even if it’s just an empty box or basketball. Hurling it at the neighbour will stun him, buying you precious seconds to escape. If all else fails, throw your flashlight.

Neighbour blinded by a flashlight? Get moving!

4. Know your role

Each character has a special ability: the Detective has a photo revealing the location of a key, while the Leader can temporarily blind the neighbour with a brilliant blast of light. If you’re just getting started with the game, pick the Bagger, who gets an extra inventory slot and takes less damage from falls.

5. Keep an ear out

If you get chosen to be the evil neighbour, grab your headphones! Telltale audio clues will signal where those meddlesome brats are lurking. A discovered key makes a distinct sound, as do the basement doors unlocking. The caw of a crow reveals the location of one of the remaining keys – a perfect chance to set up an ambush!
