Quickfire funtimes ahoy – it's Kaiju Rush.

Kaiju Rush

Smash cities with one finger

View

From the prolific indie studio Lucky Kat, Kaiju Rush is a charmingly absurd game about the least efficient – yet most entertaining – way to demolish a city. Or, if you prefer, a fever dream about what might happen if Godzilla could bounce.

All you need to do is launch your monster of choice as far as you can. Tap to stop the aiming arrow moving left and right and the creature will zip off in that direction, rebounding off walls if they hit the edge of the screen.

They’ve each got the power and spring of a wrecking ball coated in rubber. The moment your kaiju leaves the ground, a circle expands and then contracts as it heads back down to earth. Tap again when the ring is at its widest and you’ll sustain your bouncy momentum.

Retro looks meet compelling arcadey action in Kaiju Rush.

To beat your previous best, you’ll want to stop the needle right in the middle – or bounce down on the sturdy springs that give you valuable extra yardage. Even if you mistime the launch, you’ll gain coins for destroying buildings – focus on valuable targets and you’ll rake in a tidy sum.

This cash can be spent on increasing the power and velocity of your launch, or to boost your earning power while you’re away from the game. And during that time you’ll prepare monster eggs, which hatch into brand new kaiju, from a gorilla to a giant gelatinous blob and even an alien tripod.

If life’s little frustrations leave you wanting to smash something – hey, we’ve all been there – Kaiju Rush offers the perfect outlet to indulge your appetite for destruction.
