Description

Full course for you to become a well-rounded guitar musician in several weeks.

1. First spend time on the Guitar Scales by Ear even if you already know the ‘scale boxes’ Here you will be able to not only learn all the basic shapes, but also learn to hear the function of each interval within them, play it intuitively and understand the general interface of the apps.
2. Independent of your experience with basic chords, spend time with the app Guitar Chords by Ear. This way you will get used to picking up chords all the progressions by ear in any key which is essential for guitar playing
3. Parallel to that, start using the ‘Notes by Ear’ app - you will see that the music notation is a musical instrument in itself with its own interpretation of music intervals. You have the odd intervals sharing the same position as the root - either on the line or between the lines, while the even intervals take the other position of these two. Then they switch for the next octave.
4. Spend a week or two with these three apps solidifying your knowledge of the intervals on the fretboard and on the note staff.
5. Start using Jazz Guitar by Ear for advanced fretboard pattern recognition. There you will have advanced arpeggios, alternative scales incorporating the ‘outside’ intervals. This way you will get to total understanding of the neck.
6. Start using the Jazz Chords by Ear app. Building upon your newfound understanding for basic chords progression now you will get to learning the jazz chords and will understand much more the fretboard this way. Independent of whether you are going to play in the jazz genre itself, jazz is the way to learn to play any kind of music the fastest way possible, its like gymnastics for musicians.
7. Use Guitar Sight Reading to reinforce your understanding of written notes. Even if you are not planning to use notation as your primary guitar written material (although in jazz guitar it is used extensively for the melody) there are still a great number of ways you will benefit from learning that. First, the app itself provides you with yet more scale shapes and different positions that further reinforce your understanding of the neck and give you much more playing options. Second: by focusing on the notes your brain starts understand new correlation and simplicity within the music and the shapes on the neck. Third: this will truly make you a well-rounded musician. Fourth: as a bonus, it will be very easy to pick up any other instrument. And we do have this kind of curriculum for almost every instrument in existence: piano, cello, trumpet, saxophone and many more!
8. Bonus new feature: Solfege - Vocal Sight Reading - by singing these intervals in this app - your progress of learning and recognzing them by ear will be times faster. That is because our brain remembers notes easier when we reproduce them with our voice. Try for yourself.

All of these apps are intertwined and build upon one another. Feel free to use any order you like if you really feel like it, the important thing is that you devote some steady practice for each of them so that you will internalize the inner workings of these concepts.
