Scam !!!! Be Cautious
The application allows you to order a normal taxi but then there is no mechanism to complain about theft or robbery or scam behavior of Turkish taxi drivers.
I have been exposed to theft yesterday morning by one of their taxi drivers. I put the location from movenpick golden horn hotel to the airport. The driver arrived at 12:30 and took me all the way to the old airport and then after we arrived he said it is closed and that the right location is Istanbul airport is 40 mins away. The fare was already 160 TL or more. Then he kept driving for 40 mins till we arrived to the new airport. Total fare was 450 TL from Eyup to airport !!!!!!! I wanted to rate him on BItaxi but I found that he might have canceled the trip and it no longer shows in my past trips. I paid him 450 lira in cash and when I said that it was his mistake he started laughing and he threw my bags out of the taxi and drove away very fast.
Horrible! Drivers ask for more money ALWAYS
Such a scam. You use the app to request a ride showing you the estimated distance and price and then the drivers call you right before they are supposed to arrive to picking you up and ask for 3x and 4x the app price!
This happened with me today only 7 times! One of the drivers actually HUNG UP on us when we told him he should respect the app details!!
One word: HORRIBLE!
