Ok for basics, no explainations though

I have chosen to learn some Thai language. But there are a few very important basics missing. For example when choosing the package alphabet, it only shows the 44 consonants. No explanation about the vowels. And no explanation whatsoever about the difference between male/female. However, It does show the sentences correctly though, depending on whether you hear the male or female voice. But I think it would be a huge improvement to have a little basic ‘intro’.

This app is designed to help beginners get started in a new language so they can make connections with people, raise a smile and exchange a few words. As you rightly point out, it doesn’t give lessons on Thai grammar such as its complicated system of pronouns and its use of vowels. That’s because too many people give up on language learning before they have even got properly started because they are given too much information too soon. So we designed the app to give beginners simple, achievable learning goals so they can grow in confidence and, hopefully, go on to learn grammar later on in their language learning journey. It’s also important to point out that our app is already translated into more than 100 languages so any explanation of Thai grammar would need to be translated into more than 100 languages as well and, for parity, a different “basic intro” would potentially need to be given to each of our other 150 languages along with translations… Finally, judging from you question, you appear to be a more experienced or confident learner and we congratulate you and wish you every success with learning Thai. 👏 👏 😊 Best wishes, Sarah

No logro cancelar la suscripción, me siguen cobrando este mes he pedido al banco que bloquee los cobros porque dentro de la app, la tienen IMPOSIBLE cancelar la suscripción

Cancelling the app should be easy and simple - you just need to use the same pathway to cancel as you used to set up your account eg if you subscribed through the App Store, you need to unsubscribe through the App Store. Impossible to cancel

I really thought I had cancelled my account ages ago and was sorted and now I was just charged 50€. It’s not clear AT ALL from the app interface how to cancel so I am sure I will have to faff around loads later on to cancel. Don’t bother.

Cancelling is simple and easy - you just need to use the same pathway you used to set up your account. For example, if you subscribed through the App Store, you need to cancel through your Apple subscriptions on your device. Alternatively, if you subscribed through our website, then just go back to our website - utalk.com - and click on your account in the top right corner, select Subscriptions and cancel there. But we always want to help our customers, so if in doubt, please contact the friendly guys at support@utalk.com and they’ll help get things sorted for you. We would also particularly appreciate you contacting Support so we can find out what went wrong when you thought you had cancelled some time ago.
