HEALTH DATA
Collection of Health data such as calories burned and heart rate requires an Apple Watch or other Apple Health connected device.
BATTERY USE
Arc is only awake and using GPS when you are active and moving. For the rest of the day Arc stays in a low power sleep mode, with GPS turned off, to conserve battery.
On a typical day of two to three hours of travel a single full battery charge should last from morning to evening without requiring extra recharging during the day. However longer trips (for example a long hike or cross country drive) may consume more than expected battery, due to Arc needing to be awake and recording, with GPS activated, for the duration of the trip.
For longer trips, I recommend plugging your phone into a car charger or battery pack, to avoid unpleasant battery surprises.

What’s New
Version 3.17.0
## New timeline confirmation flow
- The "needs confirm" flow has been redesigned and rebuilt, and now includes both "uncertain" items and "unconfirmed" items
- Uncertain items are the same before - items where the app isn't sure about its choice
- Unconfirmed items are all the rest - items that the app feels confident about, but that you haven't confirmed
- A new "Confirm All" button allows for quick confirmation of these, locking in the of these, locking in the timeline's state as it appears at that time
## Other bits
- Added rowing to the activity types that can be saved to Apple Workouts
- Photos from shared libraries are now filtered out
- Many bug fixes, performance improvements, and minor tweaks. It's been a while since the last update so there's been an accumulation of cleanups and fixes since then!
Ratings and Reviews
Great app, if you don't mind the battery consumption.
Arc app has pretty much everything I wanted: accurate route tracking, different methods of transport available, personal stats on the locations I go to, and most importantly: it's possible to import data from the late Moves app. Only con is that it uses a lot of battery, but I don't mind that a lot, since I have an external battery available.
Suggestion: The app asks for support by donations/subscription. I would be more willing to pay (although I did already subscribe, for one month at least) if there were additional features for subscribers. For instance, I would love weekly, monthly and yearly statistics of my movements, most visited places etc.

Hi! Thanks for your kind words 😄
For battery drain, you shouldn't experience high battery drain with Arc, and it should be able to easily make it through full days without needing extra charging, so something might be going wrong there. Send me an email from the "Feedback & Support" button inside the app if you'd like to dig into the details on that and find any possible causes.
For paying for the app, if you are already using the app, then you already have the premium features. I make all of the functionality available to all users because I don't believe in multi tiered societies. Those who can afford to pay should pay, as a matter of fairness, and those who cannot afford to pay should not be deprived of the same experiences and enjoyment.
If you cannot afford to pay for the app, then that's fine! I'm happy for you to continue using it for free. But if you can afford to pay for it, and are using it on an ongoing basis, then I believe you have a moral responsibility to pay for the service that you are using.
For weekly, monthly, yearly statistics, that's coming soon in the next big update! Arc 3.0 is already in development, and coming along well. It's going to be a fun one, with lots of new features.
Thanks again 😄
Matt

Very usefull for tracking. Have paid for it. Have used it for months. Like it. But started crashing today and there does not seem to be any way to recover, even reboot does not help

Hi! Thanks for your kind words and support 😄🙏
I believe the problem with the 2.3.1 update might be due to the new thermal state monitoring being unavailable on older phone models. Is your phone perhaps an iPhone 5s or 6? So far the only people reporting the problem are owners of those older phone models.
Anyway, I'll be rushing to find the cause today and get it fixed, then hopefully will have a 2.3.2 update ready to go live on the App Store tomorrow.
Sorry for the hassle! And thanks again 😄
