Using Day One as a research log
I am using Day One as a scientific research diary, which is probably not the use case it was originally designed for.
One thing that annoys me is that there is no button for syncing, so if I am editing the same entry from both an iPad and Mac I need to close the app / shuffle windows to force the entry to update.
UPDATE: Syncing is actually possible, thanks to the reply from the developers!
Another minor annoyance is that every time I paste an image into today's entry, the app asks if I want to use the picture information as the title of the entry, which is annoying, since the pictures are just a series of screenshots from experiments, papers, and lecture videos / conference presentations. Of course another issue is that there is no cloud version, which means that I cannot use this on my office Linux workstation...
All in all, pretty happy so far using this as a research log, after one month of usage, even though the app has clearly not been designed with this purpose in mind, so it obviously lacks some finer features needed for a research log!

Thank you so much for this feedback. There are a few ways to start Sync. There is a cloud icon below the list of journals on the left column: click that to start a sync. Paras päiväkirjaohjelma
Olen käyttänyt Dayonea jo monta vuotta ja tällä hetkellä Premium-tilaaja. Olen tilannut muutaman printatun kirjan ja niiden laatu on hyvä, myös kuvien taso on hyvä. Ainoa mitä toivoisin olisi kunnolinen Full Screen -kirjoitustila, jossa saisi näkyviin pelkän kirjoitusnäkymän zuumattavalla tekstinäkymällä (kuten esaimScrivenerissä). Tämä toimi aikaisemmin erillisellä Macin lisäohjelmalla, mutta jossain käyttöjärjestelmässä ominaisuus ei enää toiminut. Kunnollinen full screen editori niin ohjelma saa viisi tähteä.
