Great game

Touchscreen combat can be a bit tricky at times (sometimes in fast paced combat it doesn’t always do exactly like you wanted) but it got me killed only twice or trice. I used the “pro” controls.
Story and everything else is marvelous. Classics old school BioWare, when they were still good.

A stunted beast

Jade Empire was a classic. This is not. The game runs perfectly well until the combat, at which point it randomly locks onto the horizon and drives off a cliff.

The controls don’t allow you to position yourself close enough to hit the enemies at times, it’s a little frustrating but it happens with touch controls. Forgivable.

The camera sometimes prevents you from seeing what you’re doing during a fight, annoying but avoidable if you steer clear of walls.

The thing that ruins this games the auto lock in combat. This is one of the single worst things I have experienced in any game for any platform. A lock on one enemy suddenly changes to another without rhyme or reason. Mid kick your character turns and faces the someone else much further away. The more enemies there are the more pronounced this issue becomes. This results in being unable to finish off low health enemies, single one enemy out to remove quickly, hit a character before they unleash a special attack and more.

It ruins the overall experience as combat makes up a huge portion of the game. The story is great, the characters are still pretty enjoyable and the graphics and sound don’t look as dated as some games from the same time. The combat is at best, playable. At worst, horrendous.
