Description

No in-app ads or purchases here! This small app is designed to give the mobile user a more efficient way to use Wiktionary.org. I use Wiktionary almost every day, and am a regular user of this app--if I feel like the app can be improved, I go ahead and improve it!

What’s New

Version 2.1.1

2.1.1: The app should now remember the user's choice of Wiktionary language, instead of always starting in the English site, en.wiktionary.org. Thanks to a user for pointing out that this wasn't happening!

Version 2.1 comes thanks to user feedback: it features a redesigned interface with a smaller header, allowing the browser view to have more screen space. A few performance improvements are also included. Thanks for your support!

Eugene Nostrum ,

One of the most useful apps I have

This is paradise! For language learners who want to look up declensions of words! It beautifully works around the glaring stupid limitation of Wiktionary itself where all sections are always expanded and one can’t chose a default section (in case one interested in only one language 95% of the time).
In fact I was thinking about creating such an app/service myself. But this saves me so much time! Someone has already thought about such an app.
Thanks to the developers! 🙏

P.S. Two small shortcomings that would be good to address: 1) Showing a start page of Wiktionary in the web view by default might be confusing. For instance, there are two input fields (one the app’s and the other one is Wiktionary’s itself) and they behave differently. Auto-suggestion, default dictionary language, etc.Would be good to just show the app’s input field on the starting page and that’s it. 2) When I switch to another app and then back, progress is always lost, I am ending up on a start page again. That’s not good at all. When I use the app to help me with messaging, I switch back and forth, I consult this app and then go to messenger to type the found declension. The current navigation progress should be always preserved. If people want a new search they’ll just enter a new term into the input box.

Developer Response ,

Thank you very much for your review, and thank you for describing how you use the app--that's very helpful. I'm about to release a significant update, that I hope will make the app a lot more streamlined. I think it fits in with your first suggestion, and I will get right to work on implementing suggestion #2. I'm just an independent developer, and things often take a bit longer than I would like, so I ask for your patience. :) Kiitos tuestasi!
