Interesting and fun game

Bought it yesterday. Have enjoyed the experience. However, I could use in-game instructions, because some of the mechanics are not intuitive.

I am stuck at a point in the game, because I cannot figure out how the healing works. I’ve found out only two ways to heal my character: leveling up or healing through encounters (bandages). Currently my only encounter left is against a boss with only 14 hps left. Therefore it cannot be won.
