On iOS, the unread messages badge remains even after all messages have been read.

While using my phone elsewhere, the message notifications don't prompt. I wonder if I have some setting wrong, but I would like to get the notifications prompting on screen

Telegram is not end to end encrypted by default and is never end to end encrypted in group chat. Do not trust.

Their description never directly claims this, but it does imply so by throwing some technical jargon, which is such a despicable tactic to pull.

Use Signal instead. It’s more open and secure, unlike this sorry excuse for a “secure” messaging app.
