It gets the job done, but be prepared to suffer.

I had to find some version numbers in a log file, and this app is barely adequate. It get’s the job done, but be prepared to suffer for it.

First of all, there’s a dark pattern right at the beginning. In order to actually start using the app, there is one ridiculous hoop you have to jump through, which is finding the nearly invisible little x in the left corner. That’s a crime against humanity and comes with a penalty of 2 stars.

Finding the first result in a log file is usually completely useless, whereas finding the last one is the one you actually care about. Log files tend to be long, so tapping find next 500 times isn’t really a viable option. Instead you should tap “find previous” just once, but this app doesn’t have that feature. One more star lost because of that.

Difficult to export

The editor works just fine but it can’t use FTP-apps, not even through export. So, it is quite useless if you don’t use just iCloud etc.

Will just force you to get the Text Editor+ after using it once.

Completely useless unless you buy the subscription.
