You know what was missing from regular castles? Caterpillar tracks and weapon-toting goblins. Throw that all together in 1v1 multiplayer combat, and you’ve kicked medieval siege warfare into a whole new gear.
What we love: Castle Busters builds surprising complexity through some simple mechanics. Players can spend a lot of time aiming attacks to hit an enemy’s weak spot. Picking units and levelling up your fortress can have a huge effect on how you play. Plus, it’s just really fun to blow up those castles.
Quick tip: Don’t put your best damage-dealing units near the front of your castle! They’ll get taken out too soon. Their survival can really count, because if you don’t achieve total victory (which gets harder as you level up) the winner is decided by who dealt the most damage.
Meet the creator: Castle Busters comes from Voodoo Games, founded in France in 2013. They have a lot more games under their belt now, including VolleyCraft, another tactical game, and a whole raft of puzzle games such as Sand Loop and Marble Sort.
