Dating app Lovoo wants you to do things differently. Its location-based approach doesn’t rely solely on quick matches. Instead, you can go beyond the surface and browse other users’ profiles, then send an icebreaker message – whether or not you’ve matched – to see if the two of you have chemistry.
What we love: The streaming function enables you to upload snappy clips that give a better sense of the person behind the profile than mere images can. You can surf through a newsfeed ranked by popular videos – it’s a bit like standing in a bar that’s chock-a-block with fun, chatty single people who are ready to mingle digitally. Make sure to star your favourites so you’ll get an update when they start streaming live.
Quick tip: Lovoo’s map helps you discover interesting places and people around you. Visiting your home and wondering if any old school friends are in town? A tap on the map can show you if they'd like to (re)connect. It also suggests nearby restaurants, cafes or public locations for your date, and includes relevant safety information.
Meet the developer: The Berlin–based team’s mission is “Love to discover”. They want Lovoo to be a place where you can discover love, but also where like-minded people love to discover the best (and safest) places to meet.
