Crossy Road has thrilled millions with its pick-up-and-play appeal, charming characters and countless ways to fail spectacularly. And with loads of updates since its 2014 arrival on the App Store, it (wisely) hasn’t stopped moving. Here’s why we keep on crossing:
It’s got a menagerie
‣ Crossy Road stars – what else – a chicken tasked with crossing roads, forests, railroad tracks and more. But hundreds of new characters have been introduced, many who completely change the game’s look and feel. From Bashy Beaver to Poopy Pigeon (a fave among kiddos), there’s someone for everyone.
It’s fun with friends
‣ Initially a solo experience, Crossy Road now lets you double your fun with same-device multiplayer mode. Pit characters head-to-head as you and a pal hop, skip and jump past trucks, over floating logs and (occasionally) into the river while sharing a split screen. Loser buys lunch!
It’s always adding
‣ Developer Hipster Whale continues to mix things up. With each new update comes fresh pop-culture references and bold new worlds such as space, ocean and prehistory. Think it’s tough to hop past a speeding train? Try a stampeding T. rex!
