No notifications?!

5€+ for an App that doesn’t handle notifications is called stealing. You can easily handle notifications by adding some lines on the command.cfg of Nagios that sends push in your app like MobiosPush. I rate 3 stars because it’s still does the job but most of the users need notifications!

Réponse du développeur ,

Hi h_naoul,

no, it's not just "adding some lines on the command.cfg". That's just what the user has to do - but that is not comparable to the technical implementation. Everyone believes that it is so easy to integrate push messages, but there are many technical aspects to consider. Yes, it's possible, but because of iOS restriction it is not possible without an additional online service. The feature was already developed but never released, because i don't like the thought that then everything depends on my webservice. I know how important monitoring notifications are and I don't want to guarantee the availability and delivery for such important (and often business-critical) notifications. An app should generally not be responsible for critical notifications. And why does a monitoring app have to support notifications? These are two different things. easyNag is there to be able to manage a monitoring system via smartphone and above all to be able to react quickly to problems, it was never promised to support push notifications. There are so many online services that specialize in push messaging and which are very good for monitoring notifications, so why not use such a service? I generally recommend everyone to use Pushover in conjunction with easyNag's URL scheme for notifications. And if 5€ for an app is "stealing" for you, please put the time expenditure of the development as well as maintenance (new updates etc.) times in relation to a one-time price of 5€. We developers also do not want to work for nothing. I'm sorry if my answer sounds a little rude, but in my opinion your statement is not fair without you know or question the backgrounds. (which I always like to discuss via e-mail).
